On the vibrant Saturday morning of the 7th of October, our school grounds buzzed with the excitement of International Understanding Day, hosting various activities and displays that captured the essence of our climate change awareness theme: ‘Slow the Shift.’
This year’s International Understanding(IU) Day, exceeding all expectations, featured a diverse range of amazing handmade souvenirs, noteworthy exhibitions, and enthralling game stalls run by our hardworking Secondary students, which attracted everyone from staff to guests. The delicious food prepared by Upper Primary and extremely supportive parents brought in voracious crowds eager to try the delicacies from each year group’s respective countries: Japan, Germany, India and the Philippines. On top of that, the performances by the Lower Primary children were truly show-stopping – the effort put in by both students and teachers deserves immense recognition.
As the day unfolded, it became evident that IU Day had not only returned but had also evolved into an even grander scale. The joyous atmosphere and the palpable sense of camaraderie perfectly captured the spirit of our school community. The Interact Club, the driving force behind this remarkable event, beamed with pride, envisioning even more successful IU Days in the years to come.
The echoes of laughter, the vibrant colours, and the shared experiences will linger in our memories, reminding us of the power of unity and understanding in addressing global challenges. Here’s to many more years of fostering international understanding, one memorable IU Day at a time.
To end on a particularly high note, we are pleased to announce that we have collected an encouraging amount of RM33,477 for our chosen charity this year, Rumah Charis.
