Recently, elc were invited for AIMS Maths Competition 2024 in Johor Bahru. All the maths teachers and Mrs Wahab worked day and night and finally the big day had arrived. We set off to Johor Bahru at 2pm on 25th April and reached around 8pm. Next morning, all of us changed into our uniforms, ate breakfast and hopped on the bus. Soon, we were sitting at the main hall doing our Individual Round. That day we had 5 events; Individual Round, Number Crunch, Shuttle Round, Math Relay and Construction Round. elc international school was tied at 4th place! After dinner, we went to bed; we were as tired as anything. The day after, we departed from our hotel, The Sunway Big Box, at around 8:30 am. Our first activity was the Treasure Hunt, in that game we were split from our original group and were grouped with students from the other schools. The judges were checking our teamwork. After that, we had a quick snack. Lastly, it was the Escape Room. This was one of my favorites, you had to solve the questions and figure out the missing code.
Finally came the moment we had been waiting for…The presentation and farewells. Two of the elc students earned Gold Medals! The best part was that Wei Ming had earned a Gold Medal in the Individual Round. After doing our absolute best job, we went back home. There were two teams from elc international school: Loyal Legionnaires came in 4th position and elc Titans came in 6th position.
