Initially we planned to tie our course of action to the “MCO”, “CMCO”, and “RMCO” implemented by the Malaysian Government following the outbreak of COVID19. This was because there was a belief that it would make paralleling any elc response less confusing (than introducing new “terminology”). However, it became apparent this would be difficult as the rules within each of the categories of MCO, that would apply to education, had the potential to change significantly and thus render any planned response redundant all too quickly. As such, the elc Reopening Committee decided to break up the Response Plans into four sections which are “loosely” aligned with current governmental requirements.
The elc Pandemic Response Plans view any (full) MCO period as what we would term as phase “Black”, whilst a complete removal of any movement control and social distancing is phase “Green”. In between these stages, where we have had RMCO and CMCO in the past, we would be in either “Red” or “Amber” phases. A quick summary is as follows:

Please do note, that whilst the “Green” phase shows no social distancing and a full return to elc, this would be coupled with current and relevant health and safety measures imposed, which would become the “new normal” of elc‘s operations. However, our Action Plan also considers what is currently deemed as the practical necessities of effective School operations. New Parents will be briefed on the current details of the School’s Pandemic Response Plan as part of their orientation, whilst existing parents are kept up-to-date with changes and specifics via email and direct communication from the School’s leadership team.
